Heavy Vehicles Prohibited on Some Roads in Takhmao Due to Flooding

KANDAL: The Department of Public Works and Transport of Kandal Province has issued a traffic suspension for all types of heavy vehicles weighing more than five tons on several national roads in Takhmao City, Kandal Province.

The roads include National Road No. 2, National Road No. 3, National Road No. 21, Provincial Road No. 20, 20A, and 20B (120), and Provincial Road No. 1, Road No. 34, within districts such as Kandal Stung, Sa'ang, and Takhmao city, Kandal province. Traffic of heavy vehicles on these roads will be suspended from 16-19 January 2023 to avoid road damages.

This traffic disruption was caused by flooding on the stated roads. The floods have also caused landslides around some rivers and streams.

Meanwhile, cars and trucks under five tons can travel on these roads normally.

On Sunday, 15 January, floods inundated houses in 29 villages along the Prek Tnaot River in 10 communes, including Sak Sampov, Spean Thmor, Kraing Pong, Kong Noy, Tien, Prek Kampus, Choeung Ek, Prey Sar, Dangkor, and Prey Veng.
